yeah, i think this is high time the administrative structure of India should be looked through a different prism... We and our institutions are still living in British-time mentality.. The Government has replaced the "Company". There is nothing called sarkari, everything is public. But like Company, people of India still believe that there are two different bodies - Government and Public. What is government property is not public one, or what is government's responsibility is not public's.

I think, the changes you brought so far in this perception follows this idea only. Your Tihar reforms are a example how Jail Authorities and inmantes are associated to each other. They have responsibility and accountability towards each other.

So, basically i think the concept of living in the world where Government is a separate entity and public is a different one, should be looked at seriously. then only Government servants would really become public officials.

Dear Mam,

I stumbeled upon your blog by chance - while searching for some official work. It is a pleasant surprise tinted with sadness that you have not been able to write at all after 2006.

This is a sincere request - do start blogging once again. We need social daring leadres here in the blogging world to be our mentors and inspirations. You are one of those leaders who talks straight on the face and never minces words.

I admit that you must be having a gruelling schedule and deadlines to meet. And may be due to this, you could not find time to continue ith the Blog.

So Mam, please do start afresh and share your views and thoughts with us. Trust me, there are millions who idiolise you - and you do know that!

Will keep coming back to your wonderfull blog frequently with the hope that you would have started again.

Regards,
Saumya - One of the billion Indians who admires you and is striving to be like you.
